Man admits to killing his 80-year-old grandmother in Cypress, Harris Co. Sheriff’s Office says

CYPRESS, Texas (KTRK) — An 80-year-old female was uncovered lifeless in a home after a welfare look at in northwest Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday night, deputies explained they responded to the 16100 block of Golden Sands Push soon after the family members recommended they went to examine on their grandmother and could see as a result of a window that she was lifeless inside the property.

When deputies arrived, they observed a sliding glass door shattered and 80-calendar year-outdated Judith Maydwell unresponsive on the residing place flooring.

She appeared to have endured several blunt pressure injuries, deputies say.

Even though speaking with household users, authorities acquired that the victim’s 30-year-aged grandson, Chad Maydwell, was wished by the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office environment for his father’s aggravated assault, which occurred on March 7.

Interviews with neighbors of Judith Maydwell verified that Chad Maydwell’s motor vehicle was afterwards noticed around her property.

Chad Maydwell was observed Sunday morning in the 12700 block of Jarvis Highway.

He fled into a wooded spot and was eventually captured by an HCSO K9 Device with the guidance of the Texas DPS and HCSO Air Models, investigators say.

For the duration of the arrest, Chad Maydwell admitted to assaulting his father and killing his grandmother.

Chad Maydwell will be booked into the Harris County Jail for the aggravated assault warrant out of Grimes County and is being billed with cash murder in Harris County for the demise of his grandmother, Judith Maydwell.
