How Grovemade’s Elegant, Wooden Desk Enhancements Improved My Home Office

When you’re a tech enthusiast, chances are you have a tendency of “accruing” new and exciting devices or accessories. This is great for a while, until your desk is just overflowing with untouched gadgets and gizmos that are buzzing and beeping throughout the day.

There are some who posit that a cluttered desk or workspace leads to a cluttered mind. Unfortunately, that’s the camp that I fall in. If my desk is filled to the brim with different things, I end up constantly distracted. And more often than not, I end being less productive as I just can’t seem to keep my thoughts together for long.

But that’s where Grovemade has come in to kind of “rescue” the desk in my home office. This is the same company that you’ve seen around on YouTube in various desk setup tours, but I’ve never had the opportunity to see if the different accessories would really help me. Truthfully, and honestly, Grovemade’s lineup of products has really helped me to keep my desk clean and clear.

The Grovemade Desk Setup

Starting off, let’s take a look at what you see on my desk.

Through various cables and hubs, all of these are connected either physically or wirelessly to my 2021 M1 Pro MacBook Pro and my custom-built PC that’s placed under the desk. Needless to say, my cable management needs a bit of work, but that’s part of the setup that I don’t see, so it doesn’t bother me nearly as much.

To help combat the issue of cleaning things up and organizing, we have the following items from Grovemade:

Everything here is self-explanatory for the most part, with the only possible exception being the notebook and pen with stand. Seeing as I have my hands in a lot of different kettles, things slip from my mind on a regular basis. Even something as remembering to take food out for dinner can go to the way-side if I’m in the middle of something or get distracted. So I have the notebook and pen always open and at the ready so I can write anything down throughout the day.

Quality Products

There’s something about having things around your home that can just improve your daily living (or working). Grovemade hits the nail right on the head, and it all starts as soon as you open the first box.

The Headphone Stand and Desk Shelf are both made from wood, along with the Pen stand. When the package arrives on your doorstep and you start unboxing everything, you get that sweet smell of fresh wood straight away. Maybe it’s just me, but it’s a soothing feeling that’s akin to sitting around a firepit on a chilly autumn evening.

Something else that stands out from using and relying on these products is the care that the company pours into them. The following quote is taken right from Grovemade’s website:

“Our signature craftsmanship has been honed over a decade of manufacturing innovation here in Portland, Oregon. We combine the skills of our small in-house team with the collective strength of collaborators throughout the US to deliver quality products worth investing in.”

Of course you could find something similar on the likes of Amazon, but what Grovemade has to offer is just simply unmatched in the space.

Make Your Workspace More Versatile

There are more people working from home than ever before. It’s important to cultivate an environment in your own home that makes it easy for you to sit down with a cup of coffee and start work for the day. It’s also important to make sure that you have the right tools for the job, and Grovemade does an excellent job at helping to provide at least some of those tools.

The Dark Wool Deskpad is a dream to use, regardless of whether I’m using my G Pro X or Logitech MX Master 3. It’s large enough to cover the wireless charging pad for the G Pro X that’s attached to a USB hub, and doesn’t cause any issues when I switch over to my PC for some games.

The headphone stand matches the AirPods Max in elegance, providing a way to keep my headphones off the desk and out of harm’s way. And by keeping it on the Desk Shelf, it just blends into the background without getting in my way, regardless of whether I’m using the headphones.

Speaking of the Desk Shelf, since I like to switch between keyboards due to using different key switches and keycaps, I can just slide them right under the shelf. It’s also a great way to house the Notebook when I’m done writing down notes for the day.

Plus, after removing the rubber feet from the TS3 Plus, it’s nestled nicely under the second shelf on my desk top. This arrangement might have to change after I get my hands on CalDigit’s latest Thunderbolt 4 dock, but for now, this works just perfectly.

If you want to spice things up with your workspace, and create a more “homey” feel, then check out Grovemade. The quality of these products are second-to-none and they are constantly churning out new accessories to improve your desk.
